Got unwanted call from 866-288-1661?
I did not respond to Donna Fields call about nstudent loan. I was given case #440405 fraud
As stated above, name provided on recording was "Donna Fields", calling about repayment of federal student loan (haven't had a loan for over 20 years when it was paid off" Gave number to call 866-288-1661. Called from number 320-281-6123
I received the same message from "Donna Fields" about a federal student loan that does not belong to me. The caller didn't ask to speak to anyone; she just said to use reference # 440405, the same number everyone else was told to use. Like the other people reported, the call originated from another telephone number. Since the scumbag that had my telephone number before me refuses to pay her bills, I assumed that the call was for her but I now know it is a scam.
Donna Fields calling about my Federal Student Loan. (I don't have a student loan.) Reference number 440405. Caller ID (which can be faked) showed Burley ID 208-647-4814 but she said to call 866-288-1661.
Oh you have to select number three to get ahold of someone. Call them on it! I just did!! Told them I was looking on the website and could clearly see they were a SCAM and to cut the crap!! They hung up!!!
OK I'm a parent so let me inform those that read this. BEFORE you qualify for a student loan you are supposed to complete the MPN instruction which in on the FAFSA website. It CLEARLY states that you will work with your college/university to establish the payment arrangement/details. Now think, they are the ones that are giving you the money so they will work with you. I STRONGLY encourage each of you to get to know your financial aid office. Know the director and the financial aid specialist that is assigned to you. NEVER EVER respond back to these calls. Your financial aid specialist should provided a listing of the providers that will aid the money. When in doubt if you should respond to such an inquiry, just shoot whomever a email and let them know you received a voicemail and is it legit and you should respond. If it's a great college to be a part of, they should be more than happy to assist you and advise accordingly. THIS IS SCAM! It royal ticks me off that we are trying to get our kiddos out into the world and at least not have them become victim right off the bat. OH I got this stopped. My child was smart enough to remember the FAFSA training and the MPN that had to be completed. But I'm on the hunt now, so Donna Fields or whoever you want to call yourself today, you better be looking over your shoulder. I'm extremely intelligent. I will strike when your not looking. Whahahahahahahahaha
Yes, it's a scam. I paid my loans off after my tax return came in (so I have NO loan debt) and got the call. "Donna Fields" was the person I was supposed to call back with a reference number. Please don't call!
Federal student loan scam. Reference #440405 from phone number8083748059. I've never had a student loan!
Called about my student loans but wasn't my service provider. Trying to sell their own program.
