They called me 3 times this past week. It sounds like it's going to be a recording, then always a guy with some foreign accent and a lot of noise in background (boiler room?) comes on and says "David? Hi David how are you?" They are looking for a David Colbert. I told them they have the wrong number but they still keep calling. Today the guy asked me if I'm sure I'm not David, even though I'm a woman and don't sound like a man. He asked me for my name, address and social security number to prove I'm not David and they really do have the wrong number. I hung up. Based on how insistant they are about this David guy, I think it's a collection company. Or a scam outfit pretending to be a collection company.
Called and left a message from "Sprint, now a part of T-mobile" about my account going to be shut off. I don't have any account with either Sprint or T-mobile.
Trying to get me to call back regarding a student loan problem. I don't have a student loan.
Received call from Virginia Davis asking me to call return call regarding repayment options on "my Federal Student loan." I don't have a student loan and won't be getting one. I go another call days later from different name and phone number but same voice and message. This time my reference number had changed.
