"James," from PCH. "You've won a cashier's check and a car. Are you interested?" Sure!
This was a Publishers Clearing House Scam. He identified himself as James Anderson, Prize Director for PCH and gave a fake badge #AJ396PC. He said I won the 2nd prize of $2.5 million and a Mercedes. All I had to do was go to the closest Walmart to pick up my registration. I told him I believed he was lying and that this was a scam and he hung up.
Call came in on my cellphone while I was at breakfast, so my husband answered it by saying "Good appropriate time of day!" at which point the caller hung up. I don't know anyone from Jamaica, or anyone who would be calling me from Jamaica (even as a tourist). Okay, there's one guy I would have LIKED to have called me from Jamaica back in the day, but I'm sure his wife wouldn't approve.... ;-). Number is now blocked.
