This pacific Power notifying you of an outage in your area and the time it will take to repair it. Not Spam
I just received a recorded message from this number in my voice mail. It seemed to be cut off, and said "The planned outage will be from 11:00 a.m. on 12.9 and will conclude at 5:00 p.m. 12.9" There was no company name or any other information as to the "planned outage"
Hey guys when you sign up to receive notifications on power outages that is them calling to update you and the updates on the outages are from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The call which was playing somehow in slow motion claimed to be Pacific Power. They stated that there was some kind of service work to be done. It was a bit confusing as to whether or not the call was real, but the number given was not the same as the number I know for the company. Their number is 18882217070...
I have received 3 calls this morning starting at 7 a.m. continuing at about 5 or 6 minute intervals.
...he claimed to have my IP number and said that many others did too because of the hacker. I did go in and change my passwords.
To make a very long story short: Flashing screen. Couldn't back out of screen. Siren. Claim that microsoft had locked up my computer for security risk and gave number to call to report. Called number. Person who answered with thick East Indian accent whose name was "Bob Williams", no really. After his "song and dance" identifying that "and numerous legit-looking numbers rolling quickly down the screen and telling me that his company could cure the problem caused by hacker "spy eye", which I have since learned does not exist now and the original author was or is in prison for hacking, WHEW! he came to the $249.95 cost to clean up the problem. I asked where he worked "Technical 24/7 Help" out of New York, but that they contract with Microsoft to help with these problems. I confronted him and hung up. I called him, he did not call me. I DID call the number listed on the initial screen. Be careful. Be vigilant.
Freaky pop up displaying this number to "unlock" my "registration key"
