Do Not Call & Robocall Complaints Reported to the FTC

Got unwanted call from 877-541-8771?

User Comments

Hi, I am one of the Managers at MCSA Compliance Consultants, the owner of this phone number. I fear there was a misunderstanding with most of the people who left comments here. We are a compliance agency, we specialize in DOT Regulatory filings, such as Drug and Alcohol Consortium, Driver Qualification Files, BOC-3 filings etc. We do not represent ourselves as a government agency itself, or even affiliated with a government agency, as we simply have no need to, which is precisely why we have "consultants" in our name. If at any point, for any reason, if someone is to ask if we are part of the Government we explain clearly that we are not. Any services we registered are done so strictly under the Federal guidelines the DOT and FMCSA have put in place. We call new DOT Number applicants and after a brief conversation our compliance agents, not officers, are able to accurately determine what regulations will apply in order for that carrier to operate legally. We do not pressure or harass anyone, if someone does not wish to use our services or be contacted by us again, we are happy to oblige. We have an A+ rating with the BBB, and 4.7 stars on google with many reviews. On our current email signatures we provide links to all of these pages, as well as our website. We appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve the experience we provide to over 10,000 current clients. Should you read this comment and would like to talk to someone directly for more information, you can reach us at (877) 541-8771. Thank you.

I had just signed up for a USDOT motor carrier permit and immediately got a call from this number. He said his name is Jeff Vogal and would be my compliance officer for the next year. He told me that They needed $187 per driver for that would be driving our van for the applications. He also told us we would need to go get physical from a certified dot doctor and needed to have a medical card on file. He even went as far as to say that other companies would be calling in the next week and we should disregard them. This is a total scam!!

Oops, I said Jeff B. above but now that this has posted I see he is below. Sorry! :P

Same message as as Jeff B. above, with a bit of variation. Pretty convincing call but I knew better because the CHP officer warned me that I would be barraged with phone calls and we did not need ANY of the things these people would be calling about. (Our local CHP office has been very helpful in getting our California CA# and our Motor Carrier Permit). I don't think this is necessarily a scam so much as they want you to pay them to get you in compliance when it's pretty easy to be in compliance on your own with a bit of reading from the DOT page.

They called me 5 minutes after I submitted my DOT registration and informed me that I had to add my drivers to these programs for compliance, pretending to be the DOT rep. They are not affiliated with the DOT at all. They scam people out of money to do the same thing you can do.

Same exact as Jeff B described. Scam. No one needs their services.

Here is the transcript of the very deceptive call I just received after filing for our DOT number (I edited out the name and phone extension)... Hello this is XXXX with MCSA regarding the recently filed DOT application for XXXX. I've been assigned as your compliance agent for the year. My job is to briefly go over the application with you to ensure that it was filled out correctly. First of all and then to review and register the compliance is that will be required for you to legally operate under this DOT number. Also since you're now entered into what is called the new entrance safety program. Unfortunately for the next few days you will be inundated with several phone calls. Those calls will be from freight for orders licensing agents BOC three representatives etc. You can simply ignore and disregard those types of calls. Anything that will be applicable to your DOT number will be discussed with me per our conversation. If you would please return my call. Again my name is XXXX. My number is...
