Husband was called first about an account that was opened using my previous married name. I was also contacted regarding a debt to collect from a loan that was taken out in my previous married name. They verified my current home address but had a wrong email for me on file. I told them that email did not belong to me and they wanted me to verify a current email address which I declined to give them. I requested any documentation they had to be forwarded to the address they had on file for me and I would look it up. I verified this debt was NOT on my credit report, and looked up what numbers they had listed, one was a number for a sex hotline, and the other was a generic number listed for a location I had been to before. The address on file was a previous address I had lived on but no longer was living at, and basically all information they had for me was false, or stuff you could look up using peoplefinder.com. All in all, looks like they are attempting to scam me and may have scammed a debt collector into collecting a debt that doesnt exist or doesn't belong to me but may be legit for someone else.
