Bout a brand new android phone from Walmart along with the 50$ refill card and I have been having trouble activating my phone. And the longer I tried the weirder my brand new phone was acting. wall calling random number (*22899) on its own and also seemed to have some type of malware on it, even though its brand new from the store. I did notice that the packaging had been taped off on the bottom as if it had been opened, then returned back to the store maybe? The only thing I can think of is that somebody bought it, inserted some type of software then took it back to be resold and because of that they now have a way of scamming for the phone refill cards from people. I did put my pin number down through the phone because the app was the Verizon app but obviously it was a scam to get my refill card, that's all I can guess at the moment, but im sure that my refill card is now wasted. Just a fyi For other people.
During process of activating my Verizon phone received a message from this number. When I called Verizon about this number they know nothing about it!
The company called our office and asked for someone who doesn't work here any more. When we said they weren't available, they asked for our HR department. Sounds like a collection agency.
