message from phone stating 6k dept. They wanted a new credit card number first and could not tell me what the last charge was placed on the card. just that it was an "old card" and from 2019. Sears shop your way card. never had it.
Received a form letter addressed to my person at my address regarding new account opening "Shop Your Way Mastercard" account ending in XXXX. Letter describes changes to the account agreement, Promotional offer update, and privacy notice. A section describes "Notice of Important Changes to your Credit Agreement", making payments and many many official looking sections that all would be found on legal notifications in real credit account notifications. A sentence stating, "If you have questions and need assistance with your account please call us at 1-877-816-9063. If this number were to be called with complaints that this is NOT my account, but a fraud, I'm sure they would ask for some personal information to verify that this is a fraud - thus securing the very information they see - my personal social security number, and thus accomplishing their fraudulent goal.
This number is listed on a website currently spoofing the sears credit card log in site.... It is a fake number and obviously a fake website designed to steal passwords...

I received a letter from Sears Shop Your Way Mastercard telling me my account would be closed due to inactivity for the past 35 months if I didn't make a purchase or call the at 1-877-816-9063. My card WAS about to expire so I called them asking if they had already sent me a replacement which I might have misplaced. For some reason I received a call from this number the following day but didn't hear it. They left no message. I called the number printed on the back of my credit card - 1-800-669-8488 - and when I was connected, they had a message that the old 800 number on the card has been changed to 877-816-9063. No problems here. This is NOT a fraudulent number.
