Got unwanted call from 888-205-6698?
contractor that showed up at my house was indeed licenced bonded and insured,
people don't understand it's just a way of doing marketing now days it's different, so there is no way possible to scam someone by setting up an appointment with the roofing company, we generated the lead for, homeowners must always check license and credentials upon inspector's arrival, please understand the process, there are so many lead generation companies scattered and all have one thing in common making money so please do some research before saying its a scam
Now they are calling from Minnesota One Roofing in Hastings, MN. They still want to do a free roof inspection. They only want to know if I was going to be home or not.
i used to work for this telemarketing company here in guadalajara mexico called Marketing Leads, they call saying the state + services but sometimes the change it for "legal reasons", to be 100% honest when i started i didnt thought that it was a scamming company, but i got curious about the number we gave, cause you know if you work for a company you research who you work for, and the first thing i found is this page. i found nothing positive or about the companies we supposedly work for (they tell you that we work with local roofers so kind of a 3rd party thing) the moment that i discovered that i just stopped showing, i dont like that whole scamming situation, im struggling to find another job but i'd rather be unemployed than working for a scam. My theory is that they are doing insurance scam, cause they only offer you this free service if you have an insurance. hope this kinda helps anyone, please dont take calls from em. they are getting a lot of money.
I received a call with my local area code in MN. There were background noise that communicated the call was not from a professional setting. The guy said he was going to be in my neighborhood (called out my street) for free roofing estimate. I asked for the name of the company, he said MN Prairie Roofing, I asked for his name and this is when he started to hesitate - I turned the situation around by asking him questions about him and he did not like that. When I asked for him to spell his last name and he couldn't when I hung up.
My wife called and told me she had a call on her cell phone and set up an appointment. I guess I’ll see. I checked them out by the name and found an actual company in Tampa. On their website they are warning people about them.
We had a hailstorm over the weekend. I got a call from a (most likely) spoofed local number claiming to be Oklahoma Pro Services, a local roofing company, who will be "in the neighborhood tomorrow doing free 20 minute inspections on roofs." The caller was very persistent in wanting to schedule. I asked him where he got my phone number and he said something vague about "public records." I then said I would have to check schedules and call him back. He was very hesitant to give me any info but the callback number he left was 888-205-6698 and his name was Keith Hodge. As he had a very thick Hispanic accent, that didn't really line up in my head either. I asked him if they are a local company why they have an 888 number. He said they are a national company. Needless to say, I will not be calling them to set up an appointment to look at my roof.
John from Georgia Services called with free roof repair estimate from recent storm. I asked what storm, he said HAIL last year. I said we haven't had any hail, he said oh, it was WIND. Gave this call back number 888-205-6698. He hung up on me when I wouldn't commit to an appointment date/time. My cell is on NO CALL LIST.
I got a call from a local number in northern virginia and refered to me about this number to call back. She was confirming my name and wife's name and asking me about someone's availability at home for roof work. The toll free number is fake, I called. it asks for voice mail with no reference of the business. And the local number is also assigned to someone else when I checked the local number. Was there any instance of any robbery/burglery/fraudulent activity after getting a call from this number?
Wow, the same thing just happened to me. I received a phone call from a guy that claims to work for Maryland services a roofing company ( hint the word Texas Services) now its Maryland Services. (lol). He was very persistent, I asked how did he get my information? Mr. John Mason said he got it from public records. They are in the neighborhood repairing roofs and would like to schedule an free inspection. Do not allow this individual to schedule and appointment with you. Its definitely a scam to say the least. He asked if I was insured, what was my first name, and how long has the roof been on the house. If he found me on public records he would know this information. Also he telephone number he called from (301)694-9562 but the business telephone number is 888-205-6698. I tried calling the 301 number but it kept ringing and eventually received a message error saying no longer in service. Just be aware of scammers like this it could be dangerous.
