It is a poor attempt to scam money... The guy has an accent and is actually pathetic. Don't waste the time - way too many calls with this same story line - it's time to use a new story.
Left message on 12/27 - James Medina, Central Processing Dept., time sensitive, important legal matter about complaint against me. He called a number though to City Hall which could be up to 109 different people.
Don't worry folks, I have shut them down by flooding their phone system so hard that it broke it.
I recently received a call from a (786) area code #. A woman with a very strong spanish accent asked to speak to (my name), I said I am he. She stated that a Law firm filed a lawsuit against me that I need to get a pen & paper for the info dhe will provide to get in contact with unknown firm who she claims she could not tell me. She provided me a File# FR-3774 & told me I had to call (888) 319-5307. I asked if she had the correct (my name withheld) because there are many people with my first & last name combo. She just insist that I call. So I told her I will have my law firm call the number before hanging up. I figure it was some sort of new scam because if the way she spoke with limited info & I could hear a mass of noise of others in the back ground (like a call center). She wouldn't ask any of my questions directly. I'm sure if I or anyone else was summoned to court or a complaint to appear or whatever, a law enforcement officer would show up at my residence or someone who's responsible to handle such. Also, a phone call isn't the best way to serve anyone. They're not 100% it's the person they are calling, thats why its done in person. She provided me a file # that was too short in my opinion. Why give a file # over the phone. So, I just did what sny smart person would do.. I typed the # given into Google to see what business (law firm) it was associated with. Lo' & behold, scam notice sites continued to appear, such as this one.
I am currently receiving calls from this number threatening to serve me with collection papers. Sounds fishy because I know who I owe and this creditor isn’t one of them.
Basically I received the same voicemail stating that a summons was going to be delivered to my husband either at home or his place of employment and that It was an urgent matter that he call 888-319-5307 ASAP. I am in charge of paying all the bills for our business & home and know that we do not owe any unpaid bills so it was obviously a scam call.
