Got unwanted call from 888-328-8171?
Called once, I initially thought it was a scam then I got a letter from CFCU telling me I was late paying a loan (they had received the check and cashed it in plenty of time). Turns out there was an issue with CFCU that I fixed. I got another call back from this number so I called CFCU and they confirmed that this is their debt collection number.
Same message and issue with CFCU … no past due accounts. It was weird.
Same situation as the other comment but the message was for SEFCU
This number left a message on my home answering machine stating they were calling from CFCU which is a local bank I have done business with. They said to call them. I called and they asked for my name. They said they couldn’t find me in their system. I asked them why they called and he said he needed more information to locate my file before he could say why they called. I said you hav3 my name, phone, and address so they should be able to find me. I then asked what bank he was working for and he asked if he could place me on hold.....he never came back on the line...I hung up and will call my local CFCU tomorrow. (he said he was a collections specialist.....funny thing is I don’t have any past due accounts with CFCU)
