Got a call from 888-531-5000?

At least 90 consumers from Nevada, Maryland, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and 19 other states reported phone number 888-531-5000 to the Federal Trade Commission. 48% of the complaints reported call or text message to be a robocall or recorded message. The last complaint was on July 3, 2022.
Caller said he was from AT&T/DirecTV and even knew my account #. He offered $89.95 for all of my current channels plus premium channels but to get that I would have to pay 3 months in advance. I turned it down saying I don't have that type of money. Then he said I could do installments and I still turned it down and CLICK, he hung up. I'm sure this was a scammer because I just called AT&T/DirecTV a couple days ago trying to get my bill lowered & was told there were no current promotions that I qualified for.
Caller claimed to be from DirecTV Services, have never been a customer of theirs so it may have been a telemarketing call but seeing that it has been reported for various other reasons leads me to believe it may be a scam instead
