Live person sounding like Apu tried to tell me they were from Experian and offering lower interest rates.
I got a call from 888-643-0999. They didn't leave a VM. I called back and someone answered. I asked him what company this was because answered without stating a company name so I figured it was a scam. He said he was from Microsoft Security and they haven't been able to have my computer get security updates for the last 3 days. I asked why they would care? It got more bizarre as the conversation continued. He said something about an email was sent to me. I looked to see if I received an email and I didn't. He said the email was sent in Sept 2017 and I had purchased a warranty for $300 to help with any Microsoft issues. There is absolutely no way I did that. He wanted me to get on my computer right then and he would help me fix it. When I told him I wasn't at home he needed to know when I could call him back and I needed do it today.
Said he was from Live Tech and was a part of Microsoft. I told him I did not believe him and was going to hang up and said good bye and hung up. Low and behold the piece of crap did not call me back. HAHAHAHA.
I paid for computer repairs a few weeks ago, and then last week they called and told me they wanted to do a refund. They wanted me to give them my checking account number so they could refund the money. This a scam; even verified by my bank, DO NOT give these people any banking information. This is Unsafe.
