Got unwanted call from 888-847-3039?
They said “normally they do not call customers, but wanted me to login to my laptop computer- I tried to login but my computer was black and need new battery. So they asked me if I had anymore computers in the house. I said no— so he told me that he would have his manager call be back—Hours passed so I called them back from my caller ID—It appears they were from India with heavy accents—with American Names James, and David. When Manager James came to the phone his accent was as clear as Mine (English-American) the longer he talked his accent faded back to his Native Indian Accent. Then they gave me a 800 number for Dell Computer to call for me to get on line with them. So I went to Best Buy and had them take a look at my computer—Technition said that I needed a New Battery and that the Caller a SCAMMER. Good your battery was down. Now I am getting so many calls unknown- and non traceable Numbers!!!
Phishing scam trying to get access to aol email.
called left no message
Got a robocall claiming my AOL email account was under security lockdown because of numerous recent attempts to access it & to change the password. They said not to access my account but to press 1 to talk to an AOL security specialist now to secure my account. I logged in to my email with no problem & I called AOL from the number on the AOL website - they have no alerts on my account & only my usual login attempts (all successful).
