I got the same kind of call about charge of $499. Didn't call number, called Amazon. There was no charge at that time. I do have amazon card, but not prime.The person I spoke to gave me the number for Chase cardmember services fraud dept. I may be old, but I know if I made a large purchase.
On Thurs, 12/11/13/18 and again today, 12/15/18, I got a recorded message phone call from 928 233 8232 saying it was confirmation of a $499 charge to my Amazon Prime account. I don't have an Amazon Prime account - I cancelled it months ago. I contacted Amazon Customer Service by phone and spoke directly with a very helpful agent who checked all account usage from the inception of my account. She confirmed that there was no $499 charge in my name and that the Prime account was cancelled months ago. I'm writing in detail so others will know how annoying & disconcerting this is - especially during the holiday period. I am asking that Amazon take action to respond to this scam.
Just got a call for the first time. Said the same thing, about Amazon Prime card being charged 499. Although I do have a Prime account, I just paid the membership renewal 2 months ago and I do not have an Amazon credit card. I'm with the other poster......obvious scam.
9 calls in the last two days from this number, says Amazon Prime Credit card being charged 499.99 for membership, Do not have Amazon Credit card...Do not call this number, This is a big Scam, for sure....
called several times leaving a message re my Amazon Prime membership - I'm not a member...Guessing this is fraud.
The call is states it is reference to Amazon Prime.
