A man with an accent called my mother-in-law. He told her that her SS had gotten compromised and that they were trying to get her name out of the investigation. They told her to take her debit card to the nearest store to get a voucher to get money from her bank account before they froze it. And that if they didn’t clear her name today, that someone would be here to arrest her tomorrow. He would not give me a website or number to verify him. I called local police and they said it was a scam and to hang up.

Voicemail transcription: “Hotline number 936-776-4392 I repeat that is 936-776-4392 don’t disregard this notice and return the call before we begin with the legal proceedings against you thank you…”
Man with strong Indian accent, said my SS# was compromised. He asked me for my name(gave him false name) asked for DOB(gave him false birthdate) asked for my SS#, then I hung up and him, added # to my spam and blocked him on my phone. It's always a man or woman with distinct Indian accent.
