They stated that they have a federal grant award that I have been selected to receive by my phone number!
Just called me saying they were from the Federal Grant Service (which doesn't exist) and said I was selected to receive $9000 for being a good citizen. Didn't stay on long enough to figure out how they were going to try to get money out of me. Definitely a scam. Had a nasal-sounding voice that sounded like they were trying to hide an accent.
Called my business phone and left no msg. In checking the Internet using this number-strong indication of a Scam.
said they select 1700 people randomly from each state that have had no bankruptcy, good credit, etc. to pay them about 10,000 US Dollars as a grant no strings attached. you are given a code and phone number to call so that they can process your grant and pay the money. Anyone else received such a call?
Called asking for me and I asked what it's regarding and something about US government. I hung up after saying not interested. Accent was very thick.
Just a call, no one there if you answer. If you call back, says number is not in service. Just another stupid call with no one there.
