I just received this same phone call. I told them that I do not give out credit card info over the phone because there are too many email and phone scams around the holidays. He assured me that they could mail out a letter and envelope. He then transfered me to their billing department who then tried to pressure me into giving my credit card over the phone and I told her the same thing. They said I should receive an letter in a few days. Seemed fishy. We will see. I support the police but I think scammers may be capitalizing on the current political climate.

I think this was a scam. They asked for someone unknown to me at this number, then proceeded to try to get me to donate to the "National Patrolman's Relief Fund." He kept telling me that I had to give them my card number over the phone, and when I asked for proof of their non-profit, he gave me a website to the "Law Enforcement Officer's Fund." Kinda suspect when the two group's names don't jive.
