I got a call from 215-841-4000 stating another company sent them a notice to change my electricity from PECO to their company and I had to authorize the change. I hung up and he called back twice threatening to turn off electricity. I did not pick up.
The caller did not directly say he was from PECO, but told me I could lower my rates; the spoofed phone number that appeared looked partly like the PECO # (the 841 part), but the area code was 215, not 800.. His heavy South Indian accent revealed his identity, though--clearly calling from a Mumbai call center with lots of ambient noise!
I got the same call, they said they was from PECO, They said I could save 30% on my bill. I told them I am up to date on my bill. and hung up.
Claimed to be PECO calling to save me 30% on my bill because I consistently pay my bill on time. Asked me for my account number at which point I told them they should know that since they know I pay my bill on time. They hung up immediately.

Claimed to be from Spark(?) Energy to inform me they are coming to disconnect my electric because of my bill. I don't have energy through that company and even if I did I pay PPL so it's their responsibility to distribute the funds. Then he said it was not because I didn't pay the bill it's because I signed a contract. I asked what the contract said. I asked him to read it to me. I said I was going to call the police and he replied that they would be showing up with the police. Now I'm scared to leave my house in case they come by and try to rob me. I'm scared to stay home in case they come by and try to rob me. Why can't somebody stop this nonsense, these scammers?
