Called stating I had a legal thing being filed against me for HSBC. This was over 10 years ago and was settled with them directly. I told them not to call again and I no longer have an account with them and I hung up. He called back and left a message that it was a last ditch effort to avoid legal court fees. What a joke. Have never received mail, emails, or other calls in the past. This is a scam.
Got a call from a guy stating that this was the last chance to clear this debt before going to trial,,, He stated we go several letters and email. (the email address was so incorrect) All the information was incorrect/ I told him to send all information again. See if he does

Emily Adams called from Georgia looking for someone who used to live with me claiming he has pending legal thing against him. I asked how I can believe she is telling the truth. She said don't worry they will just serve him. I hung up.
It sounds like a woman disguising herself by using a fake accent. She sounds like she wants you to know that she knows where you live by rattling off your address after telling you that you are going to be served.
Woman calls, asks for my husband. Informs her she has the wrong number, asked if I knew him I say no (because they have tried with this scam before) she calls back and begins yelling that I lied to her on a recorded line and I can go to jail and so can he and gives a city name etc. Says that she is not a debt collector that she is trying to keep him out of jail that its a legal matter. Asked what company she is from and she says it is none of my business. Continously speaking (have no clue what she said due to her annunciation or lack thereof) SCAM! Had two places do the same thing around Christmas time. Say they will file with court in 30 days then if we do not settle it and of course nothing happens. They threaten and try to scare people into paying ghost debts that have either been paid off or written off. Do not give anyone money over the phone, our lawyer already adviced us that if someone is suing you or it is a legal matter, you will not receive a phone call about it. Don't fall for these crooks.
The female representative did not say her name or company address leaving a message that there is a claim that is "in my favor" and to contact for additional information. I called the number back and got a voice mail, left a message and then bought a search finder membership and saw the possible person as noted above as "Shetty Prasita" or "Ashwath Shetty." During a Pandemic I find it particularly offensive and cold hearted for a person to be scamming people..
