Got a call from 800-869-3557 stating they were calling from Wells Fargo Loss Prevention, I checked the caller ID this number which came up and it appears legit. They proceeded to tell me that my debit card was being used out of state and they were verifying the transaction, etc., they even sent a verification text to my phone. They told me they were blocking that card and would be sending a new debit card. Long story short, they were the thieves who created a digital card and stole $1,500 from my accounts. I have only had these accounts since January. Beware of these professional criminals!!!
Got a missed called caller id said Wells Fargo so I returned the call the gentleman who answered said this is a health insurance company i was like I thought i was calling to the bank sorry. Then I received a text asking to confirm cell # then another text with a code , then another text asking for the code all different numbers. All this happened around 10:30pm. Next day I went to the bank and told what happened thanks god you didn’t answer the first call and didn’t reply any texts it was a fraud. We see they tried four times to process the transaction . Oh plus a week before my cell # was updated (I never did) it was a different # on file. 1-800-869-3558 1-517-914-6608 1-819-991-1302
Claimed to be Wells Fargo fraud department, i got a text first. I called wells fargo and after waiting 40 minutes was able to determine this was a SCAM!
I received a call this evening from a man with a foreign accent claiming that he is with Wells Fargo and that my debit card has been compromised $1000.00. He asked if I could provide the last 4 digits of my debit card. Of course, I said "Absolutely not", and told him that I will contact my bank. He argued and kept telling me that he is from Wells Fargo, I hung up.
Received a call from a spoofed # 208-620-1547 Alicia Pintor. Computer voice said that this is the final disconnect notice from Idaho Power (local power company) unless we didn't pay up today. Gave a choice of pressing 1 to talk to a representative, or to call customer service at 1-800-869-8905. I pressed 1 and received someone, not from the USA, because of accent. I told them I am reporting to police and they hung up.
Yes! First I got a text saying a fraudulent charge was made at Footlocker in Bakersfield. It didn't seem legit, so I ignored it. I checked my Wells Fargo account and it wasn't there. A few hours later I got a call from this number 3558 saying two charges were flagged for Footlocker and then a Wal-Mart in Bakersfield. They started asking for too much personal information. Then they sent me a text with a code related to Google Pay and it seemed very suspicious. My husband told me to hang up. I immediately did and then called Wells Fargo at 1-800-869-3557 and reported the fraud and my debit card was cancelled. While I was on hold with WF, the above number called back about 10 times. It was all very suspicious and disconcerting. I can't call the fraud department at WF until Monday!
Says they are Wells Fargo Bank. They are NOT! First they will send you texts saying your account has been compromised from a 1-863-302-8489. Then they will call you. Do not give them your pin! They will try to add your card to their Samsung pay wallet to tap their phone for purchases! And then if you don’t comply they say “yes I see that your email has been enrolled in subscriptions and will proceed spam your email. Do not fall for it! Their number is one digit off from the number on the back of your card. They are NOT Wells Fargo!!!
